Home » Revit Blog » Top 5 New Features in Revit 2023 – Rebar Enhancements

1. Revit 2023:  Effective Solid Rebar Visualization in 3D Views

  • Before Revit 2023, Revit didn’t show rebar in 3D view as solid. You had to change the visibility to show
    the rebar.
  • In Revit 2023 now rebar shows as solid by default.
  • The option “View as Solid” has been removed
from the Reinforcement Element View Visibility
    States dialog.
  • Now, you can toggle visibility to activate/deactivate View Unobscured using a shortcut. Select the rebar, then press TV to toggle the rebar view.
  • Rebar is shown as solid if the detail level of the 3D view is set to Fine.
  • Rebar coupler elements are always viewed as solids in 3D views.

2. Revit 2023: Adaptive Rebar Propagation

  • You can easily copy the rebar set from one host to another host.
  • The adaptive capability allows you to copy rebar sets from one host to
another, even if they have different
    sizes and directions.
  • When you propagate rebar from a source host to destination hosts, you can choose to align by face or by host using the new commands in the ribbon.

3. Revit 2023: Multi-Leader Tags for Rebar

  • You can tag multiple rebar elements with the same tag. Use the Add/ Remove Host option during tag placement or for adding additional hosts (leaders) to existing tags.
  • You can also customize the appearance of tag leaders, adjust them together, or change the visibility of individual tag leaders.

4. Revit 2023: Rebar Cover in Schedules and Tags

  • In Revit 2023 rebar cover field
    is available in the structural
    elements schedule.
  • Rebar cover parameter now also can appear in tags. You can add the rebar cover parameter to the tag’s label.
  • Check and report the concrete cover assignments for the concrete elements in your project to deliver high quality models and documentation.

5. Revit 2023: Displaced Rebar Representation

  • Revit already had the displaced feature to create exploded views.
  • But this feature was only for 3D views. In version 2023, you can also displace rebar in 2D views.
  • Displace doesn’t move the actual rebar. It’s just for a presentation purpose and only specific for
    that view.
