Elizabeth (Betsy) Werra is founder and President of E. L. Werra Consulting, LLC.  Betsy is a renowned and established BIM/CAD applications expert and has been working in the industry since 1999.  She has traveled throughout the United States and Canada teaching Autodesk Revit Structure as well as AutoCAD classes. She continues to make an impact with various companies in process, implementation and standardization. She has worked on Revit projects and notably contributed to work on the Denver International Airport Expansion as the Revit Structure designer/drafter and BIM expert, among other large and medium scale projects in the Denver area. 

Betsy earned her Architectural Engineering Bachelor’s Degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering specializing in Structural Engineering. Working for structural and architectural firms after college she continued perfecting her skill set by working for multiple national Autodesk reseller companies teaching and supporting AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, and Revit applications. 

Betsy then changed her career attention as a Senior Technical Specialist working for varies Autodesk Resellers and for Autodesk, Inc. as a Product Marketing Specialist. where she focused her attention to learning every aspect of the software and imparted her knowledge and skillset to clients and customers through training, webcasts, demos, and technical support, classroom instruction, and on-site mentoring for CAD/BIM management. Through working with numerous multidiscipline and specialized discipline companies, Betsy understands industry best practices regarding the implementation of Revit and other BIM software over the course of her 20 years of experience. She has established herself as a subject matter expert in BIM practices, implementation and support. 

Betsy has spoken and taught on multiple occasions at Autodesk University (AU) and currently  presents webinars as part of SEU by SE Solutions, LLC on various Revit Structure and BIM topics.  Betsy’s focus is to help her clients utilize BIM software in the most efficient and intelligent ways as reflected in current industry practices.   Production work include construction drawings, rebar shop drawings, and improving company’s Revit Standards by customizing families and template files according to the client’s recommendations.

In January of 2012 through October of 2013 Betsy was able to put her skills into a notable project where she was a part of the structural design team for the new 500 million dollar Denver International Airport Expansion, a 500 room hotel and light rail transit hub adjacent to the South end of the airport terminal.  She had a key role in establishing Revit standards for the project, implementing those standards, and then working on the Revit model throughout the project. 

Upon the completion of the work for the DIA expansion project, Betsy decided to make a career change and establish E.L. Werra Consulting, LLC in 2013. As an independent consultant, her company’s focus is on assisting clients in the establishment of BIM standards, training, and support. Her company holds City and County of Denver certifications in minority women owned business to aid in its clients’ project requirements for various BIM/CAD services and management development training.  These certifications are listed below.
